Where the numbers come from, and how they are worked out.

Unitley reads prices, results, injuries, stats and weather from a short list of sources, on a schedule, and does all the betting math itself. Claude, another agent or the web analyst does the reasoning; Unitley does the arithmetic.

01Sources and timing

A short list of sources, each on its own clock.

Only sources whose terms allow it, each credited on the data credits page. Nothing here is live to the second.

  • Odds

The Odds API: moneylines, spreads and totals from 8 US books, with FanDuel's line the one Unitley shows. Player props are fetched on request.
    • On a schedule, not live: see below
    • Every price shows how old it is
  • Schedule and results

nflverse's schedule: kickoff times, venues, roofs and final scores.
    • Checked every 5 minutes while games are on, hourly otherwise
  • Live status

BALLDONTLIE: whether a game has started or finished, and a second final score to check results against.
    • Every 5 minutes while a game is on, hourly otherwise, until both sources agree on the final score
  • Injuries

nflverse's copy of the official injury report, merged with the rosters' reserve lists.
    • Checked for new files every hour
    • No game-day inactives
  • Stats

nflverse's weekly player and team files, summed by Unitley into season totals.
    • Checked every 3 hours
  • Weather

The US National Weather Service, with MET Norway as its fallback and for games abroad. Domes are skipped.
    • Every 3 hours, for games in the next 7 days

02When prices refresh

Odds are fetched when they matter.

Odds calls are limited, so Unitley spends them where lines move: each call fetches every unstarted game in the next 8 days, and the slate shows how old each price is.

  1. 01

    Tuesday, 10:00 ET

Opening lines for the coming games.

  2. 02

    Saturday, 10:00 ET

After Friday's injury reports. Skipped when a kickoff window's call already runs that Saturday.

  3. 03

About 90 minutes before each kickoff window

One call per window: kickoffs within 90 minutes of a window's first share it.

  4. 04

    Player props, on request

In the 24 hours before kickoff, cached and shared, so one load serves everyone.

01

Every price says how old it is

Each game's page shows its prices, how the line has moved since Unitley first saw it, both teams' injuries and the stadium's weather.
  • If the month's odds calls run out, the last prices stay up with their age
  • Prices vary by state and move often: check your own book before betting

03The math

Every number, worked out in the open.

The same calculators run behind the slate, the console, the free calculators and every agent's tools. The examples below are computed by that code.

  • 01

    Implied chance

What a price says about the chance it wins: 1 ÷ decimal odds. −110 is 1.91 in decimal, so 52.4%.
    • It includes the book's margin, so both sides add up to more than 100%
  • 02

    No-vig chance, multiplicative

The margin taken out by scaling each side down by the same factor. −150 / +130 add up to 103.48%; scaled, they are 57.98% / 42.02%.
    • The method Unitley uses for the slate
  • 03

    No-vig chance, power

Each implied chance raised to the one power that makes them add up to 100%. It takes more of the margin from the longshot: the same market comes out at 58.40% / 41.60%.
    • Offered by the no-vig calculator and calc_no_vig_odds
  • 04

    Consensus and best price

For each market, the no-vig chances of every book that prices FanDuel's exact outcomes and line, averaged. The best price is the best odds at that same line; a tie stays with FanDuel.
    • Books on a different line are left out, not adjusted
  • 05

    Expected value

What a bet is worth on average at a given chance: chance × profit − (1 − chance) × stake. $100 on −150 at a 63% chance is worth +$5.
    • The slate's EV is FanDuel's price at the consensus chance
  • 06

    Edge

Your chance minus the market's, in percentage points: 72% against a 68.75% line is an edge of 3.25 points. Compare against the no-vig chance, not the taxed one.
  • 07

    Fractional Kelly

Full Kelly, (b × p − q) ÷ b, says to bet 6.0% of your bankroll at a 53% chance on even money. Quarter Kelly bets 1.5%, Third Kelly bets 2.0%, Half Kelly bets 3.0%, each under its profile's cap of 2%, 3%, 5%.
    • A bigger edge meets the cap: at 55%, Quarter Kelly's 2.5% is held to 2.0%
    • Then your max stake and the room under your loss limits
    Bankroll and limits
  • 08

    Parlays

The legs' decimal prices multiplied: 1.91 × 2.10 × 1.80 = 7.22, or +622, an implied 13.85%. Your combined chance multiplies the legs' chances, which holds only for independent legs.
    • Legs on the same game raise a correlation warning

Try them on your own numbers with the calculators, or read the guides on implied probability, vig and Kelly.

04One set of tools

20 tools, the same everywhere.

The console, Claude over MCP, other agents and the REST API all call one registry of tools, so an answer in one reads the same in the others.

What they cover
Odds, stats and injuries, weather, betting math, bankroll and bets, picks, knowledge, research.
Runs as you
Every call runs as the signed-in user, with that account's permissions: it reads and writes your bankroll, picks and bets, and no one else's.
Who does what
The AI reads the data and reasons about it. Unitley does the arithmetic and sizes every stake, so a model never makes up a number.

Each tool, its arguments and the REST routes are in the docs.

05Analysis, not guarantees

What Unitley does not do.

A chance is an estimate and a price can move. Unitley shows its working so you can judge it.

No bets placed
Unitley never places a bet or holds money. You bet at your own book, where it is legal.
No live odds
Prices come on the schedule above, not in real time, and there is no in-game betting yet.
No guarantees
Positive EV is an average over many bets at a chance that may be wrong. Any one bet can lose.
Limits that warn
Loss limits hold suggested stakes down, but a bet you log past one is recorded with a warning, not refused.

If betting stops being fun, help is here.
